ParkingEye PCN for 5 minutes

Hi - i travelled to Peterborough a couple of weeks back and had to stay overnight. I entered the car park closest to where i was staying. I got out of the car to pay but the signs said a maximum 12 hour stay. So I got back in the car and left and parked elsewhere. 1 week later i have a PCN from parkingeye saying i owe them £100 for not paying. Ive appealed it with parkingeye but they say its still valid. I checked the BPA website and it says a reasonable time should be allowed to check the terms and conditions. Is this a valid reason to appeal via POPLA ie less than 5 minutes and if i had of stayed they would have charged me for staying more than 12 hours. It seems very petty to me! Thanks in advance

Of course it is a valid reason to appeal. Have you tried Plan A yet? Complaint to the landowner and an letter to your MP to ask them to intervene.

Have you read the Newbies/FAQ thread yet?
  • Thanks - im not even sure who the landowner is but ill do some investigating. Thanks
  • OK so its owned by NCP so probably hand in glove with parking eye. Any ideas as to who to complain to at NCP?. Thanks

I doubt it is owned by NCP.

Have a look at this thread to determine how to gather information on who owns the land:

Which car park? Where exactly is this car park?

Unlikely that the car park is owned by NCP. Not impossible, but unlikely.

I'm sure this strange set up came up a few weeks ago but I can't be bothered searching for it if the OP can't be bothered to give more info!
  • Sorry there are 2 booth street car parks in Peterborough. One is the council one that i ended up on and the other looks like it belongs to NCP

If you were in a Council car park it's impossible to get a £100 PCN, and impossible to get one from ParkingEye, who do not act for Councils.

Nor do they run NCP car parks.

The PCN must relate to somewhere else.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Could it be Brook Street?
