Scottish Power Fixed Business Tariff
We unknowingly/ unwittingly signed up our small coffee shop to Scottish Power Fixed Tariff in Jan 23 until Jan 25. We are now paying 1.961pKWH now which is making the business unviable. SP are saying we are locked in and cant exit the tariff even if we pay to do so. Is there anything we can do? Weve raised a complaint with them . They are saying as they validated the tel call with us its legally binding. Many Thanks

Sorry. This is for electricity. The current bill is 1928 KWH by 54.53p (£1051.34) Standing charge is 91 days by 192.91p (£175.55) Total is £1226.89 From 30.6.23 to 18.8.23 Maybe the charges are actually correct ?as we charge our electric car through the coffee shop supply, our house supply was maxed out at 50amps already .We cant recall which of us made the call to SP! Thanks for responding.0

Sort out your house supply - 50a is an odd number, usually 60a or 80a, or even 100a. Then make use of a time of day tariff -Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

At those rates charging your EV through the shop needs reconsidering,or stopping as even paid for public chargers will be less expensive.
It's neither here nor there if you can't remember who agreed to the contract with SP provided one of you did, raising a complaint wont achieve anything as you are bound by whatever was agreed to,SP should likely have the call recorded and should provide it to you.
