    Hi Linton,

All valid points for consideration so appreciate the feedback.

The platform was initially chosen for my SIPP to bring together a couple of old pensions, yes there is a limitation on fund choices when being encouraged to use ETF's due to the charging structure but I feel it has served me well for the SIPP and allows me to reduce the number of platforms I am using....maybe introduces some risk by having both on a single platform e.g in event of an outage but less of a concern for now.

Part of the problem it seems is that multi-asset offerings are relatively poor for ETF's vs OEIC funds. I still think it will be possible to create a reasonably diverse portfolio however as you alluded to will be slightly more painful without the option of a 'one and done' fund including both bonds and Equities.

Regarding InvestorJones suggestion, I think that's what I am trying to achieve....I may need to reconsider the non-equities portion and whether I am over thinking it.... keep it as simple as Equities and Bonds with 2-3 ETF's max. For various reasons I've ended up with more in cash than would usually have so on the basis that provides an additional safety net then don't need to obsess as much on the bonds and dampening the volatility etc
