Royal mail delivered an ebay sale to the wrong house

Hi,
Need some advice.
On the day of delivery, buyer contacts me saying they didn't sign for the item. It was signed for by x and the buyers name was also x. So I thought buyer was trying it on.
However, upon checking the royal mail tracking I see that it was scanned outside number 35(assume this is accurate) instead of number 53.
I have tried several times to pass info to the delivery office who said they'll retrieve it and deliver it to the correct house. No movement after 4 days of asking. Buyer point blank refuses to knock 35.
Anyone had experience claiming for this as missing when it's showing scanned outside a different house?

well if all else fails and nothing changes then you will refund the buyer and claim from Royal mail for non-delivery
Royal mail will say they have a scan and it was delivered and you will be in a battle2 -
Your buyer might have a struggle and you may need to be active on their behalf. Have a read of my thread, in this case I was the buyer

Is it possible that you transposed the numbers when writing the address on the packet?jaisunny said:it was scanned outside number 35(assume this is accurate) instead of number 53.0 -
I wonder if your buyer plans to knock on number 35 after you've refunded them....In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

I already checked the RM slip and no, it's correct. I used postage via ebay anyway, so the address was auto selected.Grumpy_chap said:
