My XP8700 printer uses 4 ink cartridges. All the suppliers now list the official Epson replacements as including 6 cartridges so I am paying for 2 that I don't need.
Another way to hike the already high prices.

A bit confused as Epson say your printer takes 6 cartridges, if this is not the case the simple answer is not to buy the multipacks, you can just buy the cartridges you need individually.Grandad99 said:My XP8700 printer uses 4 ink cartridges. Appears you have the wrong model number for your printer as the quoted model does use 6 inksGrandad99 said:My XP8700 printer uses 4 ink cartridges. All the suppliers now list the official Epson replacements as including 6 cartridges so I am paying for 2 that I don't need.

The 6 inks are all different... in my older printer the extra two are light magenta and light cyan (new Epson are different).la531983 said:Not really, save them for the next time they run out?
If you used a Light Magenta instead of standard Magenta your photos will come out looking very wrong even if you can get the printer to print at all (normally it would identify its the wrong colour so reject the cartridge)1 -
It seems the OP may have made a boob here anyway.2
