Google maps, adding stops

Yesterday I was wanting a time for a motoring route in the Yorkshire Dales, using a route which didn't just follow the shortest route, but visited certain places along the way. I used to key in the start and finish, using stops to force the route along the path I required. I couldn't see any options for adding stops! Has anyone else had this problem recently, and were you able to fix it?

What device are you using?
Clicking and dragging on the route lines and dragging to the stop points to add waypoints is the easiest way, but may only work on web version. On the app click the three dots icon next to the start address to add stops.0 -
I go from starting point to first stop, then add second stop, then third, etc until finally the end.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Android tablet. It worked like a charm a fortnight ago, but no more.daveyjp said:What device are you using?0 -
I'm wanting to incorporate Leyburn to the journey as a 'stop' but cannot see a means of forcing it to take that route.

I've just done it on an Adroid phone. After entering the start and end points, tap the ... and 'Add Stop' should be one of the option. Input Leyburn and the list will show Leyburn at the bottom with = sign against each place. Slide Leyburn up by sliding the = sign.

That's what I used to do, exactly as you suggest, but somehow the three dots sign doesn't appear now!TELLIT01 said:I've just done it on an Adroid phone. UPDATE. Google maps had hidden the 'stops' option, but after a bit of fiddling I've discovered how to access it. Happy now!0

Could you tell the rest of us how to do it please?Reddleman79 said:UPDATE. Google maps had hidden the 'stops' option, but after a bit of fiddling I've discovered how to access it. Happy now!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1 -

First type in start place, then last place. Google comes up with their chosen route.
Next, tap the 'Masham Hawes' box. (as no three dots sign is not yet visible as it used to be)
Voila! There it is. Now it's just like it used to be.
Tap 'Add stop' and type in Leyburn. Slide it in between 'Masham and Hawes' and hit done.

I wonder if the difference may be down to versions of Google Maps as the 3 dots appear immediately for me.
