Travel insurance: New medical condition, advice needed please

Hi
In June, we took out an annual travel insurance policy with Puffin, to cover myself, my girlfriend, and our son. We are going to Florida on Saturday for 2 weeks.
Some time after taking this policy out, my girlfriend had a medical problem. She was in agony around her stomach area, went to A&E, turned out she had gallstones and was kept in for a few days. She had a procedure to remove the gallstones.
She also developed jaundice, and had to return every so often for blood tests to monitor this, and this morning, had a good result (billrubin in her blood dropped to 27. Its meant to be <20 but it had been as high as 100 so its going in the right direction). She also had a scan to check for a blockage which may have caused it, and are still awaiting results (but believe there isn't a blockage, else the billrubin would not have dropped).
She is still awaiting surgery, to remove her gallbladder, but this is to prevent her from getting gallstones again, rather than to fix an ongoing problem.
We don't know what to do regarding our travel insurance?
- Can we just do nothing?
- Do we need to inform the insurance company? (given it looks like the problem has gone away, although she is still awaiting surgery and scan results).
- Do we need a letter from GP confirming she's safe to travel? (as mentioned here on the 2nd to last question: https://puffininsurance.com/FAQ)
Thanks

You need to tell the insurance company and they will likely exclude any further medical issues related to her recent problems.
Do I have to declare medical conditions?
Yes, you must declare full medical details. It is a legal requirement that all the information you provide to us throughout the life of the policy must be full, accurate and not misleading. If you are declaring a medical condition on behalf of yourself or another traveller on the policy, you must have full knowledge and permission to do so. Failure to disclose full medical details may result in a claim being denied.
What do I do if I am diagnosed with a new medical condition?
If you are diagnosed with a new medical condition, you will need to confirm you are still fit to travel with your medical practitioner. Travelling against the medical advice of your medical practitioner will invalidate your insurance.
