Selling shares held by Equiniti Shareview and a Nominee Service

Following my husband's death I now own shares in Santander held in their Nominee Service via Equiniti and M&S and Astra Zenica shares held in Equiniti Shareview.  Am I able to sell these shares through x-o.co.uk as they provide a more economical service or am I stuck with Equiniti who I found to be quite tricky to deal with when transferring the shares.
I realise I should probably have sold them instead of transferring but at the time I really didn't know what I wanted to do!

I recently dealt with my Dad's estate who had two batches of shares in LLOYDS Banking group. It was more expensive to sell the shares if there was a Share Certificate held at home than if held in the Nominee service. If you have a Share Certificate then it may be worthwhile speaking to Equiniti as they can post you a form to despatch the certificate and change them into the Nominee service.  They also provided a promotion code to sell the Shares once held in the Nominee Service.  YES they still made money out of it but trading in the certificated shares prior to selling along with the discount code but it saved the hassle of moving via x-o.co.uk.  It all depends on the number of shares and value so please compare via the Shareview Portal as you get a quote before comitting to sell.  Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your helpful reply, Whistler67.
I'm going to go ahead and get a quote.
  • SELLING ON SHAREVIEW
I have solved my problem but for others benefit:
I have a Shareview Portfolio setup to track my shares. I wished to sell my old Lloyds windfall shares which are held on Shareview/Equiniti in a corporate nominee account CSN established by Lloyds.
Against the shares there is a SELL button, so I selected it. I followed the dialogue but eventually got stuck with a “Processing, please wait”. This hung for about 50 minutes before I eventually rang Shareview. I was advised to log off the Portfolio account and start again on the main Shareview site. Following Sell on the main site worked fine! It was suggested that “sometimes” the Portfolio route does not link properly to the main site!

Out of curiosity, how much did they charge in fees for selling them? £60?
