Olive tree dead?

We’ve had an olive tree in the garden (In the South East) for about 7 years, last year it didn’t really flower (we had a few tiny green olives that weren’t worth using) and we cut it right back this spring when doing some work.
It hasn’t flowered, or even grown any leaves at all, all summer. Is it dead? Or should we give it time?

The fruit comes on new wood and you haven't got that yet.
If it still has leaves then it's alive.
How are you watering it and what are you feeding it?
Is it in shade?
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Echo the above.
This species want to be baked in sun in a sheltered location.
It wasn't happy as it wasn't thriving and hard pruning has meant it will need loads of energy to become productive again and in the English climate you may struggle.
Maybe lift it (with a large rootball, don't cut into it) and relocate it to an optimal aspect.0 -
I have 3 genetically random olives. Two went through last winter OK, and the third, in the ground and similar location, dropped the vast majority of its leaves. I cut that one back to within 20cm of the main stem and it has grown new leaves this summer. If yours is bare - and it's not clear from the post - it may be 'pining for the fijords.' :'(
