Downloading Free AVG ???? Help please

I have tried to install/download the free version of AVG on my Dad`s PC but three times it has not let it install...
I have it on my PC no probs but he is NOT on broadband just monthly normal.
Has this got any significance ?
It says it will take approx 3 hours to download but always errors before finished..
Any ideas or alternatives please.

you're not on aol are you??, If you are it will not let you install some programmes. Where are you trying to download the AVG from?

Can't you download the program for him and then take it to him on a flash drive, CD etc?

Alternativly use a download manager like Flashget here which allows downloads to resume.

cant you just burn the copy you downloaded onto a CD or copy it to a usb flash drive and run it on his PC?

I presume you're not going to do that and use some sort of hosting service.
