Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Overcast this morning with the threat of rain although it's dry at the moment. Yesterday was quite pleasant but there was definitely a bit of a chill in the air. Managed to get the grass cut when I got home so that's another job done for now.
I've got a trial with a make up woman later at DDs, this wedding is certainly creeping up on us. Make up isn't really my thing but I'll see what it's like, need to show willing!
Called at DDs on my way home yesterday, the little one asked if I had been on holiday as she hadn't seen me for a while - it was only last week! All was going well until I lost one of the little balls from her toy so then I was in the bad books.
Glad you enjoyed the food festival Rosy.
Hope you're feeling better today Snoozer.
Bet you're looking forward to your appointment Suffolksue.
Ooh, happy new car WL.
I have a new dental appointment for Friday, need to ask for an hour off work so will work my lunches this week (although that's nothing new!).
Have a good day, take care. XX13 -
Morning folks. I had a bellow free night, thank goodness.Yesterday I booked a short trip to Orkney, not until next year as I want to see the final excavation at the Ness of Brodgar as it's a place close to my soul. Hotels and flights get booked up really quickly so I'm ahead of the game for a change. I'm really pleased about it and now need to keep fit, well and alive until then. 😀
This morning I have some shopping to do, I'm out of tomatoes and green veggies. Apart from it's all still a mystery. Hugs to all those who'd like one.Happy Tuesday to all.12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After a lovely day yesterday we are promised the chance of light showers today. The pattern of this summer!
I plan a trip down into town this morning as there are a few bits I want from Savers and maybe a quick browse around whilst down there. I should address the overgrown stuff in the front garden when I get back as I can barely get up the front steps without getting tangled up in wayward shrubs. They and the weeds have gone rampant this year. Must be all the rain.
ROSY I finally watched the Dan and Helen prog last night on catch up. I'm glad you mentioned it as they were in lots of places local to us. We are not far from the woodland hammock place. Tonight's episode in the Dales is set to record already in case I forget!
The ironing got done yesterday and then the bottom drawer of the tall freezer got sorted out. It's where I keep all sorts of bits of l/o in little tubs and bags, I was convinced there was some mushroom sauce in there but there wasn't. It's now been pruned and sorted, with a note of what's in there!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or poorly loved ones. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all
Up early today as DGS will be arriving about 8.30am. DD has a Midwife visit at 9.30am so will need to drop him and be back home for that. Because she has booked a home delivery all her appointments are done at home also. I think we will stroll into town as I need some more eggs and then have toasted teacakes and a cuppa somewhere.
Yesterday's visit to Salcey Forest went well but it was so busy in the car park we had to reverse out (no room to turn around) and use the brand new car park across the road. I was very watchful in case DH's car got dented by anything before we exchange it next week!
Having some pork shoulder steaks from Lidl tonight and I'll do them in the slow cooker. We'll have the other two tomorrow with hoisin sauce and some salad. It's definitely turned chillier here, especially in the mornings.
Off to get ready. Have a great day everyone.9 -
Morning all well its supposed to be nice again so WM is whirring away . We have spent the weekend sorting the shed as we need to reconfigure it as we have a new hot tub coming this is a proper hard shell one in true MSE we have purchased a 2 seater as there is only DH and I at home mostly and will be cheaper to run and it was from a local spa shop but second hand its only 3 years old we do get a warranty with it .The reason i didn't use the blow up one much was because i didn't like getting out in the cold so we are hoping this will be a better alternative as we will use the shed as a changing room, we need to make a side door and a porch type arrangement for the back and side with a roof we will have a canvas front that can be removed in the good weather . Today is tidy up day so just the usual housework .I have a delivery coming from the butchers for the freezer and some more winter bits for our Antarctica expedition as mountain warehouse had a 20% off sale .
Right better get on have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe and i hope the sun is shinning where you are xSlava Ukraini9 -
Morning all
Its a bit dull and overcast here this morning but the sun is due out later, only the two people coming today as the rude one has thrown her toys out of the pram over me giving her notice on a Tuesday, she took it really well when I spoke to her but once she got home she cried and sobbed and is refusing to come back at all 🙄 she has cut her nose off to spite her face really as she could have still come Mondays for always and Tuesdays for another month, I am currently arguing with the scheme as to her giving me notice they seem to think she may not have to give it, but I argued that I have to give her notice so she should me ! Will hopefully find out more today.
Gers my sister has just come back from Orkney and she loved it she said it’s very beautiful xx
Dinner tonight will be Pork belly strips with a sauce that I will make later and rice and peas, all washing is up to date for now and we gave the house a good tidy yesterday.
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning everyone
Just a quickie as I need to go for a few bits of shopping and then collect my great nephew for the day on my way home. We'll hopefully go to the park this afternoon if there's no more rain. It was pouring when I woke up but is brighter now. This morning will be lego building I expect. Not sure yet if little one will be joining us - she was out all day yesterday with her mummy so could be tired today.
Yesterday was spent peacefully - I tidied the front garden and then mostly read in the afternoon.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Gers, I'm booked on a cruise next March that calls at Orkney for a day visit - where would you recommend I try to see?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello all, it's dry at the moment but we may have some rain later. I mentally felt out of sorts yesterday so took myself out into the garden and mowed the lawns front and back, then did some weeding but ran out of steam before I'd finished, maybe I can do the rest of the weeding today if the rain holds off but it's getting darker by the minute. I didn't have time for a nana nap but slept well last night instead.
I had my GP appointment this morning cancelled as the doctor has Covid 😲 but they have booked me in with another new lady doctor for early tomorrow morning, hope I don't catch it before our holiday ! We had all this week earmarked to do something or other so now it's a shift around and as we still need some toilet blue and pink for the 'van it will be a trip out shopping this morning.
RedRuby hope everything gets sorted asap, maybe you'll be better off without the rude one completely.
Camelot good luck with the make-up session.
Have a good day everyone
Take care all, stay safe and covid free.

Floss said:Gers, I'm booked on a cruise next March that calls at Orkney for a day visit - where would you recommend I try to see?Oh gosh! There's so much to do and see on the mainland of Orkney. As you are going in March many things may well be closed still Here's a leaflet about the mainland. I presume that you won't have transport apart from being taken into Kirkwall though you may have the option to sign up for a tour. I would go to visit the Neolithic remains like Skara Brae which is the most stunning place. The ancient history of Orkney can be found in the The Orkneyinga Saga, you can read it free on the Gutenberg website. It's very long though fascinating. Once you find out more details of your day visit I'll be happy to recommend other stuff which may fit into your day better. There's more information here.It didn't take long for my plans to change! I decided to not bother driving all the way up to Oban as I only needed a few things and I'm going to Glasgow on Thursday so can do it then. I went to my local shop for tomatoes and veggies.TA - I wish that Ocado would deliver here.Wicked Lady - a new car is exciting, I hope that it works out.Bella - an Antarctica expedition??? Have I missed reading about this? And, you are really making the house your own, perhaps this change will be the last? My friend Alan inherited his late DM's old-fashioned bungalow and totally remodelled it into a thoroughly modern home.Ruby - oh dear! I hope that you can sort out the 'notice' issue OK. And yes, Orkney is a stunning place.DP1 - I'm glad that you had some peace and quiet yesterday. With some luck Lego building should also be relaxing.Nan - it's good that you got booked in again so quickly. Where are you going on holiday?Taff - and where are you off too? I seemed to have missed so many holiday plans!Meanwhile, both bulls are fast asleep after an early morning skirmish, the sun is not shining and there's the threat of rain in the wind.
