Thanks for the new thread @elsiepac. Please could I try for
£120 + £20 Baking Budget + £77.60 Bulk Buy
That's for one vegetarian woman and covers all food, household and basic toiletries but not alcohol which comes from a different pot.
I'm determined to try to use up existing stores to make more space especially in the freezer so hopefully this month I shall come in on, if not under, budget.
Food
Food for all is a necessity.
Food should not be a merchandise, to be bought and sold as jewels are bought and sold by those who have the money to buy.
Food is a human necessity, like water and air, and it should be available.

I definitely need to get my budget under control as I feel like we spend too much. We are a family of 5 - 2 Adults, 3 children - 9, 8 and 6 - youngest has lunch supplied at school for the next year as year 2, other 2 along with myself have packed lunch. Husband works from home but generally has eggs or leftovers. In August we spent 600 on food alone as I separated out household items, we cant afford to spend this amount every month and I dont want to be spending that amount on food plus household if I can help it. I do try to meal plan and can stick to it but we have treats at the weekend and end up spending a fortune, would probably be cheaper to have a takeaway
. Going to try and be better in September, I've been reading along for months so now need to put into practice all the tips and suggestions I have read. My month will run from 1st Sept to 30th Sept
For all food and household items I am going to aim for

I'm back for September! I had family come to stay in August for a week plus an extra dog for a month so decided I wouldn't be able to keep track of spends so had a month off! Have just read through everyone's August posts and am motivated to get budgeting again! Our budget is for 2 Adults and an 8 year old. My daughter is veggie so we all tend to eat veggie food. Budget covers dog food and household items bought at the supermarket too.
My budget for September is £250

£295 for September please.
Grocery shopping and stores stock-up for two adults with an allotment. Last month it was courgette with everything, this month it's potatoes!
Thank you @elsiepac for once again running the thread.

Picked the blackberrys and made up the apple pie today. Used some cooking and some eating apples so they needed no extra sugar. Pie is so big for 2 that I may freeze some slices for later. Froze some more raspberrys from garden hoping to keep DHs pudding tummy happy for free for a while. I am getting quite good at making shortcrust pastry now. 19 months ago when I first started this challenge I would have bought ready made. Fish finger sandwiches for dinner tonight as DH not home untill about 8.30pm and Hot dogs tommorrow as we are both out playing crib until about same time. On reflection our habits have changed quite a bit. It is often DH who suggests we have a simple, easy, snacky meal now. In the beginning I never imagined that he would be so open to trying new things either.
In my stock take of freezer I found 1 and half Heck sausages and 1 burger. I intend mixing these together next week to make a couple of beef/pork burgers. Will let you all know how it goes. 😂*craft stash 2023 = £108.36 spent - 80 items made/mended/finally finished.

Spend of £1.01 today - I returned something to a shop and this was the overspend on the refund.Decluttering Target 2023: Monthly Challenge Day 25 - 279/307 10307/2023 NSD 171/365 2023 Craft Makes - 241 Craft Spends £428.18/£400 Books read - 2023 - 37 GC - £100/£100 August GC - £60.74/£100 September GC October 0/£1004
