Actual credit card operators

Hi there, its transfer time for me. Having used a number of different cards over the last few years I'm technically prevented from going back to many operators for a while.

It would be really useful in my search if I had a list of the actual banks or building societies behind each branded card. Has anyone got an up to date list.

Given that I'm transferring from an MBNA this transfer is proving tricky!

i.e Abbey is actually from MBNA, etc, etc.

Note Santander/Abbey now issue Abbey cards rather than MBNA (not updated on stoozing site).

Thanks Tom. I was certain that we had changed that. Clearly not!

  • Clariman, shouldn't Egg now be lumped into the Citi Group pot?

Strictly speaking "yes", but they seem to be acting pretty much separately still. For example, there is no issue getting a Citibank card if you already have an Egg one and I think their systems are still separate. That is in contrast to the MBNA cards which have always been operated by MBNA but just branded differently i.e. they have always been managed by the same systems and the same customer service centres.
