Booking.com cancelled my hotel reservation

I booked a hotel in Liverpool in April this year for a friend’s wedding in October. The hotel was cancelled in late August. (So booked for 4 months!) Hotel claim Booking.com cancelled it. It also happened to a friend who had booked the same hotel via Booking.com - I obviously won’t be using them again. 

Anyone else had a similar issue?

Which hotel? It is unlikely that Booking.com cancelled the booking more likely the hotel itself.

No, this never happened to me. By the way, I also use another option of booking.com which is travelup.com which gives good deals, especially to UK customers.
