Children’s income from pension

Hello there
My children’s father has recently died. He was under retirement age and there are possibly benefits payable to the children from his local authority pension.
One of them is under 18 the other under 22 in full time continuous education.
I think they will receive a dependent child’s pension each month and a share of a grant between themselves, and an older adult sibling, to be held in trust until age 21.
Will either the monthly pension or grant in trust affect their student loan / maintenance loan entitlements ?
Kind regards

No. Student’s own income isn’t taken into consideration, in the same way they could take on a job to help fund their time at university.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
