Hi all
I have a 1.25l Fiesta and I've got an engine failure light twice in the last 6 months or so. Same thing happened. It feels like the power goes, the car won't accelerate that great. I turn it off and on again and it works fine. Going to get it checked, but thought I would ask here to see if there is any immediate diagnosis or concern?

Youare going to need a diagnostic check. Ask how much before you book.
I see some garages near me quote £30

It’s probably a dodgy sensor somewhere Hopefully it will have stored a code to enable the fault to be traced. If it rights itself by turning off and on again then it’s unlikely to anything more serious.1

I'd have had it looked at when it first happened, had it been something serious you could have ruined the engine by now. The fact that you haven't suggests that it isn't a serious issue but delaying having it checked still risks the possibility of damage. The local garage that I use will plug in the analyser free of charge whereas the garage that I bought the car from (also a Fiesta, 1.0 Ecoboost) wanted to charge £95 which would be credited towards the cost of fixing a fault if one was found, so shop around if you don't already have somewhere that you trust.0
