State Pension on release from prison.

Hi, my elderly neighbour's husband is due to be released on licence in a few weeks. She is worried about finances and wonders if he will be able to get state pension. I know they can on release after serving their full sentence but I don't know about coming out on licence.
He is of pension age. Does anyone know the rules around this?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Typically people sentenced to a prison term serve half their time in prison, then released halfway though their sentence to serve it in the community under supervision of the probation service (that is being on licence). So time in custody is usually half of the sentence.Alice_Holt said
