Sending parcel to Northern Ireland

I have just sold an item where I offered Evri and Royal mail postage. Evri was cheaper than Royal Mail.
The buyer is from Portadown, Northern Ireland and he chose Evri as it was cheaper.
Just about to buy postage from Evri but they are adding £2.75 location charge! I wasn't aware of that!
Would Royal Mail also charge something similar - I did a dummy run on Royal Mail but there was no extra charge. I will check with buyer if I can send by RM but just wondered if he will end up paying some surcharge at his end??
Any guidance will be welcome.

Royal Mail is a national service and there would be no surcharge for anything within the UK.kalsha said:I have just sold an item where I offered Evri and Royal mail postage. Evri was cheaper than Royal Mail.

Thank you Soolin. I will use RM this time after checking with the buyer.
I have other items listed with postage by Evri. How can I exclude these post codes which attract location fees or if not exclude, how do I let the buyer know before he buys that there will be extra charge?0 -
You can’t push buyers into choosing the postage method you want unfortunately, all you can do is block areas entirely via your settings and I doubt you would want to do that.kalsha said:Thank you Soolin. I will use RM this time after checking with the buyer.

I've not used ebay for a while but you used to be able to specify postage quite vaguely (economy 2-4 days or something similar) which would allow you to choose the best carrier in cases like this. Is this still possible?

This is what I do, so I can choose the carrier at the time of sending. Is Royal Mail any more expensive than Evri? I now send everything Royal Mail because I have found the prices really competitive, particularly if purchasing Tracked 48 online, and they will collect free from your door. I think it’s currently £3.29 for a small parcel and £5.99 for a medium parcel up to 5kg, with £150 insurance included in the price.martindow said:I've not used ebay for a while but you used to be able to specify postage quite vaguely (economy 2-4 days or something similar) which would allow you to choose the best carrier in cases like this. wasn’t aware that Evri charged to NI though - have never experienced that but maybe they don’t charge to send things out of NI (which I would be doing).Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
Evri also charge extra for the Highlands, Isle of Man, etc.0

Yes that is what I will be doing. I hadn't realised that online RM price is cheaper than Evri and can get it collected from home! Buyer is happy for me to send by RM. I will alter my existing listings which offer Evri.Money_Grabber13579 said:
