Great news about VR Coxy - though it must be scary! In my last job but one there was a round of consulations which was scary enough, luckily I wasn't selected and was deployed into a new (but essentially the same) role. I'm sure that you'll find something else soon enough.Scarlet - what a nice family your DIL has. I hope that the gathering turns out to be enjoyable.Chrisca - it's a perfect day for baking.Camelot - now, if you'd offered me beans rather than courgette I'd have accepted happily.
I find courgettes rather tasteless most of the time and only use them for ratatouille which I haven't made for years. What a pain for the cancellation.
Florence - well done on resisting temptation.Iris - how lovely to get eggs from your neighbour. The farmer's wife kept chickens for a long time until a pine marten got into the pen. I enoyed eggs and the sight of lots of little chicks running up and down the track. They loved to hop into my big flower pots and peck away.Izzy - you make me laugh!TA - enjoy your final night, I hope that the sun keeps on shining for you.Rosy - a food festival sounds wonderful. There's an arts, crafts and food festival planned for Inveraray Castle in early September which I'm contemplating going to. Not decided yet as it'll be bound to be packed and I'm not too comfortable in large crowds. Tempted though! The bellowing bull has been at the far end of the huge field for the last two days and nights, I can hear him rumble now and then but no actual bellowing. Fingers crossed.I've emptied the DW, done a white wash and got it all on the line. There's no wind at all and the forecast is for dry weather and sunny intervals. Still waiting for said interval.

DSis and I are back hiking from next Friday from Lancaster to Crewe. Unfortunately the ASLEF strike means no trains so we are having to stay in London on Thursday night and get a megabus (I could weep) on Friday which takes 7 hours. Means we will be walking the first 10 miles from Arkholme back to Lancaster in the dark probably but needs must.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Morning all
Its been raining most of the night but it’s due to clear up this afternoon, I hope it does as we are due to go to a beer festival at the local pub it would be nice to sit outside rather than indoors.
OH has taken little dog for her haircut she looks so soft and vulnerable once it’s been done but she will stand no nonsense from anyone, that will be the Jack Russel in her 😂
I didn’t make the goulash yesterday as the meat did not defrost in time so we will have that tonight before the pub. Washing to do this morning but it will have to be hung indoors.
Coxy well done on the VR - onwards and upwards xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, I've stripped the bed this morning and put the bedding in the wm but the weather doesn't look too good and it's much cooler, so it may have to be dried indoors. There's definitely a hint of autumn in the air.
I had to break up a mob fight on the patio this morning as 4 magpies had set upon a young squirrel, those birds are such thugs but thankfully the squirrel hopped away and didn't look hurt.
I have to remake the bed and throw the hoover around then the rest of the day's my own. Tea will be a throw it all in omelette as I have a few bits in the fridge to use up and I also seem to be overflowing with eggs.
Coxy I hope everything turns out well for you.
Take care all

Afternoon everyone
DD and I , and little one of course, went up to our big Salvation Army shop this morning - they had loads of tables and racks full of clothes and for £5 you could fill a bin bag. We had a great time and I'm really pleased with my bag full especially the 2 pairs of Next jeans that looked new and are the same as a pair I bought just a few weeks ago for £25! There wasn't anything to fit little one but she found a great pirate hat and some baby clothes for her doll...oh and I let her put in one sequinned top from the ladies size 6 table to dress up in. Of course she was 'helping' me while her mummy got to look in peace. She'll be back up later for a sleepover - DDs ready for a lie in after having her all week.
Nothing else happening today. I've finally got all my pictures and photos back up so I'm going to have a lazy hour before she arrives.
Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Evening all. A sad day in our seaside town as a missing lady has sadly been found, and a man arrested.
take care all and keep safe.Carolbee8 -
