The journey for my hair appointment turned out really lovely. I stopped once or twice just to look at the views, it's well worth the distance and time it takes. Now my hair is cut and coloured again. It all took most of the day as I didn't get home until nearly 3.00pm. I'd prepped a salad before leaving so only had to boil a couple of eggs.Today I have no plans. The day looked fine enough so far. There's the annual art exhibition going on in the region. Various people open up their home based art studios for the weekend. It's always interesting to see them though I'm reluctant to visit many as I feel pressure to buy something in each one I visit. I just can't visit a tiny shed filled with lovely stuff that I don't want.Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Saturday to all.12

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's a fine start here, but chilly - autumnal as the weather forecasters say. I'm sure that the trees opposite our house are starting to change a bit already. Not much planned for today except that we are going out for an early evening meal with Dil's family - it would have been her dad's birthday yesterday, he passed away earlier this year. It's very kind of them to invite us, they are a nice family. We are meeting in Newcastle at a city centre restaurant. We'll get the bus, it's more convenient than using the car.Hope everyone is all right, I haven't read back on yesterday's postings.Take care folks.13

Morning all and thanks for the start Gers x The art exhibition sounds lovely.
I have been MIA the last couple of days. Decided to take the VR so will exit end of November. I'm owed some annual leave so will need to take that in my notice period. Feel remarkably calm about it all and now to start the job search!
DSis and I are back hiking from next Friday from Lancaster to Crewe. Unfortunately the ASLEF strike means no trains so we are having to stay in London on Thursday night and get a megabus (I could weep) on Friday which takes 7 hours. Means we will be walking the first 10 miles from Arkholme back to Lancaster in the dark probably but needs must.
I'm seeing Mum today to go through the list of people to lodge the POA with. We've had it for several months but haven't had the chance to see her given DDad has been here. He is doing okay and has been booked in for surgery on Tuesday.
On the OS front, I have washing to do today and hopefully line dry as it looks fairly decent. I also need to make a shopping list and meal plan for the week. Will probably go to A!di tomorrow morning. 5 more Bay of E sales are coming to a close this weekend - more money for the charity whoohoo.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning allIt looks to be a bright morning so far but checking the weather forecast it looks like we'll be getting some rain around 1pm and then thunderstorms around teatime. I'll check it again later as I have some washing to hang out and I'll be it will have changed again!Nothing much going on here today. Will do some baking later and a bit of tidying in the garden but after that I will be a lady of leisure :-)Hope everyone has a good day x12

Morning All
The sun is shining! Hoping for a decent day as there's quite a lot of washing to get through. One load on the line already and another to go in once I've had a shower.
Must go on courgette watch today and gather more beans although I don't know what I'll do with them - there's no room in the freezer, will have to share them out with the neighbours. I have a couple of quite large squash growing but they won't be ready for a few weeks yet.
Glad you and Rob had a good day Ruby, sounds like fun.
Enjoy your meal out Scarlet.
Happy haircut Gers. Hope you can be strong if you visit any workshops and galleries.
My cancelled dentist appointment from Thursday was cancelled again yesterday so I sulked all night, I really want all this out of the way. Anyway, worse things happen and hopefully I can get an appointment early next week.
Hope you are all well and have a good weekend - no bank holiday here in Scotland. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all. Mr F was actually out of bed before me this morning - I had dozed off after the alarm.
Sunny here - not looked at forecast yet.
There is a garage/yard sale style event happening today at a housing area on the edge of town - I would have been very tempted to go and probably come home with stuff - before my big declutter this year.

Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers
The sun is shining, so it looks like being a nice day.
I've been invited round my neighbours for a coffee and to collect some of her free range/organic eggs (she keeps a few hens in her large garden and supplies me with eggs). She also grows vegs and cucumbers and I am lucky that she gives me lots of her surplus.
Hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday.11 -
Morning everyone I’m off to have a look round a few shops today I won’t be long it’s just a small outlet park not to far away there’s nothing in particular I want but I want a look out and I could do with a new pair of jeans and a box of chocolates for a gift hubby has just made a point of taking two paracetamol that’s a hint that we won’t be long because he will be aching or in other words he wants to be back in front of the television watching the football I am just ignoring him. It has to be sunshine and showers but it is definitely cooler it will be housework and dog walks the rest of the weekend . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting off. The sun is shining brightly here too but doubt it will last!
My last day today, off back home early doors tomorrow. Better shake off the slothfulness and give a clean around later and pack what I can. DD and the girls are coming Monday for a final week before school starts the week after, then back at half term. I will.wait and see what the weather has in store before deciding whether to have more time here before the site closes 1st November.
All was peaceful yesterday, no noisy gardeners spoiling the day. But there was an almighty downpour battering us at one point.
Have a good day folks and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all, thanks Gers.It was really misty when I got up.Decent nights sleep for once with pooch, I think our busy day with DGS and visiting DBs kept her from snoozing all day. DGS footie this morning, later start as it's a friendly, his season proper is in a couple of weeks. Heard from DS1 last night, they've reached the very North of Scotland now, some photos/videos showed heavy rain but it hasn't spoiled their fun.Coxy shame about having to get a mega bus.Hope DDads surgery goes well.Enjoy the meal Scarlet, & what a nuisance Camelot re dentist.DH & I still undecided whether to go to the Food festival today or tomorrow, depends on weather forecasts really. If we don't go I'll have to sort tea out but there is some tandoori chicken from the butchers. Camelot- I've been cooking courgettes like mad, firstly the ones ex SIL brought me, then I ordered 3 from Mr T, mistakenly pressed 3 packs instead of 3 individuals!Enjoy your day all, hugs to poorly folk and relatives x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
