You need to try a way to contact booking customer service. I had a similar situation three years ago and my wife managed to get refund somehow from them.
OK all . I looked at the booking website again, and, depending how you hold the screen there is a line of info about the function suite visible on the portrait orientation. I must admit I tend to work in landscape and had I scrolled down the screen I might have seen it. What annoys me is they waited for the money to clear my account before telling me nor one but TWO NIGHTS of functions. My legal advisor (Mrs. M) has told me just to give up and lose the money. This is typical when there is any chance of confrontation. But, just to P155 off Greene King I have not cancelled the booking so the room will at least not earn them any more money for the first night of our intended stay.
