EDF migration to Kraken
I just went to input my readings for my monthly whole bill account and discovered a very odd reading on my gas account labelled "change of supply". I don't have a smart meter and since my last submission on 26 July of 1376 I have used just 1 unit of gas so today is 1377. However dated the 5 August there sits an erroneous reading of 1382. Hmm?
A quick phone call, which was answered in around 3 minutes, and I was told that because I was moved to Kraken it is classed a change of supply so their system made an estimated reading at that date but it did not calculate any cost. Really? Anyway apparently the system will now accept my today reading (of which I have photographic proof just in case) and should generate my bill accordingly. The electric was spot on agreeing with my own spreadsheet, and no fairy tale readings there.
I have had fun and games with EDF the past 3 months but once again a hiccup was quickly cured. Just thought I would put this on here to alert anyone else in a similar situation to watch out for those estimated readings.

I had a similar electricity overestimate by over 2000 units due to EDF the Kraken move. Luckily my smart meter has started reporting again but they still haven't recalculated my balance.0

Are you on Whole Monthly Bill or 6 monthly catch ups? If the former I would just ring them and get it sorted asap. My gas bill has not appeared yet, but I will update when it does as to whether it really has generated from the corrected reading. I suspect it only happened to the gas because I have only used 4 units since May. It does appear automated systems do not understand that we don't run heating in summer months. My only gas use is cooking and washing up - both minimal as salads don't go in the oven and don't generate greasy pots and pans. I wash up when I run out of clean plates!0

I'm 6 monthly so not fussed. It should work itself out when I get my bill or I'll be on to them like a tonne of bricks. My credit balance didn't used to update before the move but it looks like it gets updated monthly now. Maybe it will right itself at the end of the month?0

I am sure amongst all the bumf they sent me re my new account it mentioned that everyone, whatever payment method they were on, would receive monthly updates. I had a glitch last month and ended up inputting my readings 3 times in a week - each time it updated my cost to date. I understand Octopus do this on their Kraken system so it makes sense that it will work the same way with EDF. Let's just hope it runs smoothly after these initial glitches.0

And on hour later my bill has appeared. They have used the reading I gave today and their calculations agree with my own spreadsheet to the exact penny (we are usually a penny or three out either way). If this is Kraken efficiency then I am glad to be aboard.
They advise I could save money by moving both fuels to the 3Yr Essentials Fixed Tariff - which they say would save me 22 pence per year compared to the current SVT. Am I tempted? I mean 22 pence could have paid for the 2 bananas I bought today . . . . . . Maybe I'll just pass on that offer for now!0
