Help please. Is this something from my bankruptcy 14 years ago?

There are two options on the search function, one for corporate insolvency, and one for personal, make sure you click the personal box.
Here are some examples of people and organisations that may be authorised to place notices:
- insolvency practitioners - who are appointed by the court to place notices relating to personal or corporate insolvency
- solicitors and chartered accountants - who are appointed by the court to place notices related to personal or corporate insolvency, or who are appointed as executor of a will
- executors of wills - who wish to place a deceased estates notice supported by a grant of probate or letter of administration
- government departments, local government and regional authorities - who are appointed to place public notices, for example planning and highways notices and the creation of Statutory Rules

Househelpplease said:Morning all,This forum was an absolute godsend all those years ago and I find myself needing you again!I’ve had a letter out of the blue today from a company called Capquest. It’s in my maiden name which I stopped using in 2005 but the name I would have used for some pre bankruptcy debts. It tells me my debt of over £4K (it says originally with Britannica Recoveries) is now being transferred from Arrow Poplar Designated Activity Company to Capquest and that all monies should now be paid to Capquest. It says my account is at present being managed by The Bankruptcy Exchange and they will continue to do so.I have no idea what this is. No sign of it on my credit file.Do we think this is a debt from the bankruptcy all those years ago? Do I just ignore? Any insight would be helpful!
Thank you
I called the bankruptcy people at one point previously because I was so worried and they told me to ignore these letters as they will always try and get money from us but the beat way is to ignore. Easier said than done though!
I've checked my credit report again this morning and it shows nothing. I've done my best to improve my credit rating over the years so dont want nothing ruining it.
My letter also says it's a mail order account which I have never had since my bankruptcy it also says my account is managed by the bankruptcy exchange.0 -
Had precisely the same letter today. Debt is pre-bankruptcy around 2009 [never had credit since]. Possibly a bulk purchase of debt has triggered this. Hope they didn't pay too much for mine0

I have received the same letter.
Could this have something to do with it?
I can't post links but if you google 'capquest arrow global' a lot of information comes up about arrow global selling capquest and a load of consumer debt.

I did the same when I got the letter! I spoke to my insolvency people, when I was declared bankrupt in 2011, and they told me not to worry but if they still send me more letters, they will deal with it and they cannot chase me for the debt after six years and one day as long as it is included in the bankruptcy which it was. All sorted!Silly people eh!0

I’ve had the same letter & I was also bankrupt some years ago.
It’s rather unfair receiving these letters after so much time has elapsed, bringing back the fear & uncertainty I thought was behind me!
I shall ignore this letter, for over £6k, but it’s left me in a very vulnerable position again.0 -
Ladies and gents, you have nothing to worry about, no amount of computer generated tripe can alter the fact, your bankruptcy removed all liability for your debts.
They have no remedy against that.
Sometimes old debts are sold and the new owner may not be aware of the bankruptcy, if they write demanding money you can ignore them, but if they are persistent, a short letter is all that is required.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I have received the same letter today from capquest which relates to a debt included in my bankruptcy in 2008! They state an actual amount which I recognise from the records I kept of the bankruptcy. The puzzling thing is that the letter from capquest was addressed to a temporary address I was renting from Jan 2022 until May 2023 and not the address at the time of my bankruptcy. The letter is dated 16 Aug 2023 so they are not aware of my new permanent address. I do not intend to respond.0

I have received a letter today omg brought back memories of an awful time in our lives
im not going to respond as all debt was considered in the insolvency
it’s good to have this arena to discuss matters thankyou2 -
My wife has just received the same letter, a quick Google has led us here. She went bankrupt in 2008, strangely enough we moved house last year, yet the letter has come straight to our new address which is worrying. For now we shall ignore it.0
