Halifax upgrade incentive

Last Friday I decided to switch my Halifax 'no fee' current account to Ulster bank for the incentive. Before I did however, I opened a Halifax reward account so as to retain a current account with them along with other accounts I hold.
I paid in £1,500 to the newly opened Reward account to avoid the £3 fee, and duly transferred it out again.
The switch to Ulster is now complete, just waiting hopefully to get the pay-out, as recently had one from RBS.
On checking Halifax today to see if the switched out account has been closed, I found it's still visible, but more surprisingly the new Reward account has been credited with £150 with the reference UPGRADE INCENTIVE.
This seems like an error, as even if there is an upgrade incentive being offered, I didn't upgrade I simply opened a new account.
Anyone have any thoughts or had the same happen?

Unlikely that the switch is yet complete, it takes at least 7 working days for the full process. Maybe just DDs/SOs have been copied across?
No idea about the phantom upgrade incentive, their current switch-in bonus promises £150 inside a couple of days of the process concluding but obviously not relevant here.1 -
Thanks. Thinking about the timing, it was two weeks ago when I initiated the switch, and had a text from Ulster today confirming the switch is complete.flaneurs_lobster said:Unlikely that the switch is yet complete, it takes at least 7 working days for the full process. It would be odd if the Halifax system saw a new (qualifying) account being opened, followed by a switch of a seperate account being initiated and completed, and rewarded that - even though the switch here was an outbound one. Then again, I've seen weirder things happen...I suppose you can try and go for the 3x£25 bonus too
