Ebay click and collect gone astray.

I ordered an item on Ebay and used the “click and collect” option and chose an Argos counter within my local Sainsbury store.
Tracking was provided and the item was shown as delivered but I did not get a collection code to enable me to pick it up.
I looked at my Ebay dashboard for the item and one part of it showed it had been delivered to the quoted address and another area of the dashboard showed it still in transit.
I followed the instructions on Ebay and messaged the seller who sent me information from the courier that included the delivery photo.
I went into Argos and they were helpful and spent 20 mins checking systems and even invited me staff side to see if I could spot the package. They claimed they hadn’t received it and pointed out the photo was just an image of a floor with no package in it.
They said they would check CCTV and get back to me. They rang a few hours later and said they had checked a 3 hour chunk from 30 mins before the claimed delivery to 2 hrs 30 mins after and the courier had not visited during that time
I have gone back to the seller and all they can say is it has been delivered.
I have started the process from Ebay that guarantees money back if goods not received. However, looking at the terms of the guarantee they do not reimburse if the courier can prove delivery and the GPS coordinates on the tracking tie up with the Sainsbury store.
How do I proceed with this, it is not a lot of money, only £30.
It was the Sainsbury CCTV that was reviewed by Argos with the store security officer, but I doubt Sainsbury would want to get further involved.
I feel piggy in the middle with the courier providing tracking but a dodgy photo and Argos stating no delivery received confirmed by CCTV.

Best bet is to call/chat eBay by using the help page options, typically it's difficult in these cases as the tracking will show the item was delivered but the lack of a code for collection might prompt eBay to assist. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1
