Large girls school shoes?

I was going to suggest Brantano's too. Also, if she can bear it, worth looking at their men's selections, because they have a wide range and some of them look too feminine for my boys' tastes!

I am a size 8 and brantanos is a very good shoe shop they do size 10 in there!!

Been here - have the T-shirt!
DD has size 9 (sometimes size 10) feet, and I have felt totally desperate as most shoe shops are just not interested.

Best places we have found are
- Evans (already suggested, highly recommended! you can get discount on full price styles with their account card, but the call centre is rubbish)

- Brantano has a wide range of styles and can be excellent for value.

DD also praises one of the cheap high street chains so shall try and find out more details.

I'm presuming this happened a few years ago as Clarks aren't able to order shoes any more?

BUT - from spring next year they are launching a new 'click & collect' service so you can order what you want online and have it delivered to your local store to collect. Its going to be a HUGE improvement on, as you said, the previous poor odering service they offered.

Thats why I said in my original post that only certain stores stock size 9 shoes - they are not currently available to order in stores anymore

Thanks for the help, ill have a look online to see if any Clarkes in Leeds stock size 9s - being able to get a narrower width would definatly be helpful.

Next shoes go up to a size 10 and I don't think the standard width ones are wide. I have wide-ish size 8 feet so sometimes buy Next size 9 if I want pointed shoes that don't have much room in the toes. Also, their sizes do vary, so sometimes I have been able to buy size 7.

Tallgirls.co.uk do a good range of shoes starting at a size 8 upwards, I've tried to copy some pics over for you but they've come up as links, they have a specific range of school shoes. Dani X

hi.try this ,they also have a few shops.i have large feet and i hate it but in the shop i can try them on...there are so many ladies with large feet yet alot of shops only go up to a size 8

Also Priceless Shoes - cheapie shoe shop but all styles go up to 9 and they last pretty well for cheap shoes (start from £10) I'm a 9 and its blooming murder!

Also Dorothy Perkins and New Look are introducing Size 9's soon

i really sympathise with you, my daughter is in a size8 1/2 shoe aged 13, buying shoes is a nightmare, the shoes we find that go up to her size she wouldnt be caught dead in. we recently managed to get a pair of hush puppies as well for her.. they meet the style criteria (well as good as shes going to manage) werent too expensive and she could try them on in store (got from a shoe shop at cheshire oaks) we have tried the mail order route but havent been successful in getting any to fit that way.. always something wrong with them
