Chikd Tax Credits - 19 Year Old Studying A-Levels

Just a quick question about Child Tax Credits for a young person aged 19 (20 at the end of this calendar year) who is studying A-levels and is due to complete them in May 2024, so an academic year left. Does CTC continue until just before the young person's twentieth birthday, or do they end on 31st August (next week)?
I've googled it but found conflicting information.

They continue until the day before their 20th birthday, same with child benefit. You will need to report the changes that they are remaining in full time education. https://www.gov.uk/child-tax-credit-when-child-reaches-16

Thanks, @poppy12345, bit of a nightmare getting through (first call ended up with Child Benefit Office, second and third calls cut off, fourth call got it sorted out).poppy12345 said:They continue until the day before their 20th birthday, same with child benefit. I did think that CB and CTC continued until 20th birthday but the amended award notice implied otherwise - it said that as he was 19 as of 31/08/2023, he no longer qualified for CTC. Rather misleading but it's now sorted out and continues until his 20th birthday.0 -

They will then recalculate your tax credits after that date and you'll receive a new award notice. To be clear both benefits will end the day before their 20th birthday, rather than "continues" until their birthday.A 'Qualifying Young Person' for Child Tax Credit is someone who is:
- 16 years old until the 31 August following their 16th birthday, or
- 16 or 17 years old who is registered for work, education or training in certain circumstances
-
Under 20 years and in full-time non-advanced education or approved training, so long as this commenced before the age of 19.
