I have just recently saved a house deposit, but have decided not to go ahead with a purchase for probably another year. The money is just sat here at the moment not accumulating any interest. I plan on adding to it monthly over the next year also.
Can anyone recommend a decent account to put the money into where it will accumulate decent interest and be accessible also if I need it.

There's an upto date list of the best instant access accounts on the website, it's also worth considering opening a new Bank Account in order to access exclusive higher-paying saving accounts which are attached to the main bank account. Santander's Edge is a good example of this.1

If you're confident that you won't need access for a year (and it would be your first property, and you're under 40!) then you could use a Lifetime ISA, which would boost £4K up to £5K in this tax year and the same again after April, so a decent return, but only if you're not buying for another year, as earlier access would be penalised:Grf2000 said:I have just recently saved a house deposit, but have decided not to go ahead with a purchase for probably another year. Unfortunately I’m over 40 and would be more than £4k0

You should not have more than £85K with any institution as this is the max compensation payout if they went bust.0 -
I'm using oxbury easy access and 90 day fixed at the moment. I like the shorter fixed terms.1

If you put Chip in the search box at the top, you will see various threads about them ( also some threads about Fish and Chips ! )Grf2000 said:Has anyone had experience with the Chip savings account?1 -
I have a couple of Beehive accounts and I’m happy with the app and experience so far, the app isn’t the zippiest and best user experience but I trade that off with the interest rates. The payments back and forth aren’t instant but again that doesn’t especially matter to me for the purposes I have opened the accounts for.1
