Auction house has lost my items

I sent alot of items to an Auction house and they have lost at least one of my items or put it on someone else's lot.
I've emailed them they have investigated apparently and said they haven't. They were my deceased dads items. The value isn't a lot but it's the principal of it what can I do?

The auction house should compensate you by paying the estimated value.

If the auction house has said they didn't include your late Dad's item in another lot, what proof do you have that they did?

Yes - it’s important to clarify this. Are they saying the didn’t lose the items or that they didn’t include the items in another lot? If the latter - what has their investigation yielded - because I assume they didn’t find the items?

What outcome do you want?  Your post suggests some sentimental value, but presumably if that were the case you wouldn't have been trying to sell them.  If they acknowledge they've gone missing in their possession then they owe you the estimated value of those items.  That way, you're not out of pocket.

Had you been provided with valuations/auction estimates of all the items and, if so, can you show that all other items were sold or returned but that one item is not accounted for?

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Its a difficult thing to do.

Do you have a list of items sent to the auctionhouse? Did they sign for the inventory?

What exactly are the auction house saying has happened to the missing item?
