ULEZ extended scrappage scheme questions

I applied on Monday 21st August as part of the extended scheme. What happens next? I can’t wait 10 working days it’s a very long time. I need to get another car.  Do I wait until I hear back from them? Will I need to take it somewhere to be scrapped? Can I buy another car in the meantime? Or can you only own one car before getting another? 

Please help the deadline is only a few days away.

Thanks yes I have. I suppose I’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I just wondered if somebody here had any personal experience to share from the previous run of the scheme.
