Surely if it is a charitable donation then there should be annual "reports" so that they can be used for self assessment etc to HMRC.

Reporting regular donations to HMRC is only necessary if they're gift-aided, which they might not be. But that reporting would be the responsibility of the donor. There will always be records over so many years. Still hoping the O/P is still searching the loft and all places where old papers might be stashedZanderman said:
