Tall Daisy plant?
They grew to about 2 ft ( maybe shorter but as a child everything seems bigger!) and they were on very firm tall stalks that had ridges up them. The heads were big white Daisies with yellow centres.
They grew in big mounds and we always new them as "Dog Daisies"
Does anyone recognise them and have a name? The could have even been a wild flower I suppose.

Are they Shasta daisies?
I think they come in more shaggy formats- lots of variations if you google

Shasta is my guess too.
You can find them in soft yellow too now but they only last a couple of years where the wite ones go on forever.

Thank you!
Maybe they are Shasta but they weren't shaggy quite neat. I will have a look at some pics.0 -
They certainly have the ribbed stems and aren't always shaggy.
Be interesting to know what you find. Please let us know.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I reckon Shasta as well, easy to grow from seed as well as being tough as old boots. Here's some of mine, from seedEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Googled them and was amazed at the different varieties that came up. I think I like the original ones - white that grow into a mound.
I want to fill gaps in between shrubs but will need to read up on them as my spot is dappled shade/ Sun.0 -
Mine grew well in the shade of a fence and tall shrubs.
Hardly any sun.
Had them for many years.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
