Disability Council Grants

Evening all, I hope someone may be able to help.
In short, in April I have have adaptations made to my house (which I own outright and in just my name)
The adaptations were for my girlfriend who became severely disabled.
The cost came to around £25k, which the council paid for, on the understanding that if I sell the property within 10 years I owe this back.
The thing is, my girlfriend has just told me she wants to end our relationship and move out.
My question being does the grant stay with the house, no matter what and if I do sell within the 10 years I owe the council the money back.
Many thanks for reading.

You will have signed an Owners Certificate so any sale, transfer or change of tenure within 10 years will trigger the requirement to repay the grant, The grant remains on your home. Read your council's Housing Assistance Policy which should be on their website. The Council will have registered the amount as a charge on the property.
In April you posted here that you had £150k to invest. Did you declare this money as part of the Test of Resources they completed prior to the grant approval? If they were aware of the extent of your investments they have been remarkably generous to pay the full cost of the work. You have received taxpayers' money and that comes will ongoing obligations.2 -
Yes, all declared and accepted.
