Consumer rights with perfume?

Hello,

I purchased a bottle of perfume for my mother in March, for Mother’s Day. The atomiser has stopped functioning, making the perfume unusable and yet it is still 3/4 full.

I have been in touch with the company I purchased it from but they say they cannot help, as the returns window has now closed.

I cannot seem to find any information relating to faulty perfume and wondered whether there are any consumer rights in this regard?

Many thanks 😊

I remember this happened a while back to Mrs O. She got an atomiser from somewhere on the internet and I decanted the perfume from the original bottle into the atomiser. It might be a less hassle way of dealing with it.

    I purchased it from PerfumePrice.

@IvanOpinion did you completely take off the metal seal around the top of the bottle to be able to transfer it to a different bottle? Thanks 😊

Have you tried loosening the top on the bottle then retightening it ??
Sometimes the bottles get sort of air locked.

Which bit is broken? Could you decant into something like a travelo

If it is the metal spray part, and it has stopped spraying.  Take the metal bit off it should just come then there is a plastic tube and if you use a small pair of pliers trying pulling it out then decant into a travel spray. Or if you can get it moving, just put the spray part back and it should spray.

Now if it is the metal cuff and will not screw off some do, some not.  Then a jeweller's saw which are time and cut through not something I have tried but on the perfume forums people have and then again decant.

If you get to this stage, you can decant into a travel atomiser.

All you do is position the Travalo on top of the plastic tube and pump. You can see the level through the clear window.

Cheaper versions can be bought from China.
I have a few of these, great for smaller handbags and holidays.

This happened to a friend of mine.   They contacted the brand themselves  ( Tom Ford)   who happily and promptly sent a new bottle of aftershave.
