Letter from ELMS after receiving letter before claim

Hi, just after any advice on possible next steps. In brief, I parked at a car park owned by Excel in a marked bay, stayed for under allotted time and paid for a ticket which was clearly displayed. My only crime was that I only inputted the numbers of my reg rather than full reg. ANPR recorded time of entry and exit and therefore also my full reg which corresponded with the number I had inputted. Excel have pursued me with the usual series of increasingly threatening letters. I responded to the letter before claim highlighting that their letter was defective as it missed certain criteria and stated I would go to court and defend myself. Today (22/8) I have received a notification of instruction letter dated 18/8 from ELMS legal asking me to get in touch to discuss or pay the debt of £170. What would people recommend I do from here? Should I continue and go to court or arrange payment? TIA

Why do you think you should contact Elms when they are scamming you by adding a fake £70 ????
The courts don't like money scammers. Up to Elms now, they will no doubt be spanked in court and you can claim your costs
Something EXCEL are used to nowadays .... especially with Elms, their kissing cousins
