Car insurance and new employer

I have changed jobs and wonder if I need to notify the insurance company? I have the same job title I just work for the council rather than a bank.
Will this make any difference to them? I don't really want to laye an admin fee to change this and I made a large claim last month so I'm worried they will charge me hundreds more now if I do this.

Last time I claimed they never once asked me my employers details.

Have you checked if you can update online as I can complete online changes with no admin fee. Although my insurance only asks occupation and not employer, which I think is standard.

Check what your policy says you need to inform them about mid policy vs at renewal.
