Painting hallway - thoughts?

Options
My folks have had a quote for their hallway, I'm concerned it's a bit too cheap.

South East/London zone six
'Standard' sized 3 bed semi
Painting hallway and landing - ceiling one or two coats, walls two coats, minimal if any filling required
Banisters currently varnished, will be sanded, primer, undercoat, two top coats
All doors (7!), archs skirting too

He quoted 4-5 days and X price, supplying paint himself too.

So yeah, curious on thoughts of price.. Give me your thoughts!

What were they quoted? 4-5 days labour, has to be upwards of around £600, plus materials, bare minimum I’d expect would be £750. There are still some tradesman out there who’ll charge a fair price for a good job, they’re not all people looking to make a killing, hence your concerns the estimate may be too little. Has this decorator been referred?

£975. My folks were expecting quite a bit more, as was I, I suppose you get used to expensive trades! First time any of us have had decorators quote tbh.

My folks found him in the local residents/council booklet thing as they don't really do looking online. So no, no referral or anything.

I've had a look though and I can't find anything online about the company - Nothing on companies house, no website, socials, nothing on Google reviews, check a trade etc. They were posted a typed up and printed quote on half decent letterhead, which whilst it doesn't mean much is a bit oldskool (I tend to get quotes by WhatsApp today lol)

4-5 days sounded quick to me too but I guess I'm slow at decorating lol

Do you need the woodwork doing? We painted our hallway last year and although it seems like a small space it became quite a difficult job because of access to the top of the walls/ceiling and the sheer amount of woodwork.
