With no EPc does this stop you getting the Warm home Discount.. my disabled wife did get it but last year she was refused… VOA say the house is stopping her as it’s thermally ok??
no central heating, plug ins used and one gas fire, 40 year old windows and doors, original roof no felt, built 30/40’s.
how do I get the £140… again, I’m out of work and my wife’s carer, low income.
I need help please 🙏🏻 i

Having just bought an EPC for £59 it would be worth doing as you'd still be net £80 up for this year and you'll have it for the next 10 years.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Not by itself it doesn't.  They go by the age, type and size of house.  The online checker referred to the EPC as that's a source where those pieces of information can be found, but the government have access to the data from other sources.

What type of house is it, and do you know how big it is in m²?

Edit: it is far too late to get this year's WHD, the cycle for next year's is starting (the qualifying date is sometime this month).  But if you can be prepared with the necessary info then you'll be in a better position to know whether you should qualify or not.

Only if having an EPC would help, which is far from guaranteed.  Only if the house is the right type and big enough to qualify for its age.

Though might be worth looking into whether an EPC would help them access one of the upgrade schemes, as plug-in electric heating is one of the most expensive forms of heating there is.  The only way it would be worse is if they were on Economy 7 and paying peak rate electricity for the heaters!
