No Claims / Discounts for named drivers
Hi all,
I have a four cars for the Children, as well as my own, insured on the same Admiral Multi Car policy. No claims from any of the drivers.
My Admiral renewal notice has come through now and with the increases, it is time for them to go alone.
Is there any way they can get discounts from their driving records on my multi car policy?
Thanks in advance

Have you asked Admiral if they can reduce the price?
I have a multi car policy with Admiral for years and every year I ask them to reduce it and they do so it works out cheaper to stay with them
If its a true multi car policy, its individual policies combined together so they should have their own no claims bonuses (you can check this on the paperwork for each 'policy')FTB - April 20200 -
@SaverRate thank you for the tips!
I have not spoken to Admiral yet. Renewal email came this morning.
I have looked at the No Claims Discount Information from last year (Can't see it updated for this year) and can see one of the children is the named policy holder with a years no claims. The other policy is in my name. So school boy error. So it would be good if there were other options for discount.
Before going back to Admiral, I would like to get other quotes. LV do a multicar yet I suspect it is for the same address, which does not apply here.0 -
Generally speaking it's the policyholder only who gets the no claims discount.
There are few insurers who will also give named drivers a "named driver NCD" but (a) if I remember correctly Admiral aren't one of them and (b) generally other insurers won't recognise it as no claims discount, so it's only useful of the named driver goes on to get a policy in his own name with the same insurer.
Other insurers will of course give them credit for the fact that they've held their driving licences for the last X years and haven't had any accidents or claims in that time, ie their policies will be cheaper than if they had to declare a couple of accidents each. However they won't apply a specific no claims discount as such unless you can provide a piece of paper from Admiral to say "this person has X years no claims discount".1
