Replacement tyre issue
Hi all
A few months back I had some damage to the side wall of my tyre. The car is a 2023 Skoda Enyaq. The fitted trye are Bridgestone Turanza. Fortunately I took out the trye and alloy insurance when buying the car, so I took the car in and they contacted the insurers who confirmed that the would replace the tyre.
My local Skoda dealership - Heritage Skoda, do not carry spare tyres, so they would have to order it directly from Bridgestone.
It has now been 6 weeks and still no sign of a new tyre. I am having to reflate the tyre every 2 - 3 days as it will lose about 0.5 of a bar over that time frame.
How long would it be realistic to wait? For safety reasons I cannot put a different make / style of tyre as the axle should always have the same brand/make.
Would it be reasonable to ask the dealership or insurers to pay for a pair of tyres? The cover is limited to £300 per claim.
Thanks in advance
John

Have you looked at sourcing a tyre elsewhere and seeing if the insurance will reimburse you? Opoeo.co.uk are well known for being a good supplier
Matching tyres is usually only a recommendation, not a legal requirement - not familiar with the model - is it a 4x4 for example? Otherwise, yes, why not ask them if they'll cover the cost of 2 tyres0 -
There are no safety concerns if you fit a different make or style of tyre. It is good to get a tyre with similar characteristics.0

You can have any standard tyre delivered in 24 hours. Everyone stocks Bridgestone Turanza
The problem is probably that they are trying to access an OEM tyre0 -
Have you chased Skoda or asked for an alternative?FTB - April 20200

More likely one of those jobs at a dealer which finds itself in the 'more importnat things to do than this' pile. They will no doubt have a pricedure to go through as its an insurance claim and everything grinds to a halt.
Look at Blackcircles, Camskill and similar sites for the tyre and if it exists press the dealer to get one ordered today.0
