So as the title suggests, we were in Rome last week before our cruise and apparently you need to buy a ticket before you get on the bus! We did not know this and the inspector was not having any of it and fined me for 50 euros! I only had a icutd on my phone 📞 f my driving license. ~ he took the details! Any idea what will happen?

Is this anything to do with parking?
I can't see the connection myself.2 -

Did you provide your name and UK address? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Why were you surprised at needing a ticket - buying tickets for buses (and trains) is pretty standard, usually before you board.1

They took your details and address from the driving licence, I assume the inspectors didn't force you to pay on the spot. If this is the situation, my idea is that the best thing to do now is... nothing. Just sit and wait for a letter to come to your address, if will come at some point, and take it from there. Remember that the system in Italy works in a different way, every "notice" is considered delivered if there's is proof of delivery/signature, a normal letter means nothing and doesn't prove you have received it. Just relax and wait for their next move, if there will be one at some point.0

Best to find out what the system is before you get on a bus in an unfamiliar place, whether in a different country or here at home!0
