change of credit card repayment date - will this mean 2 payments?

Options
Hi
I have changed my credit card minimum payment direct debit from 10th to 28th of each month. The August Direct debit left my account on 10th this month. Payments will be taken on 28th from now on.

Does this mean that I will pay on August 28th as well as the payment I have already made on Aug 10th, or will it be September 28th?

Thanks

  • It depends on when they generate the next statement.

I wouldn't have thought that you could unilaterally change the DD date without adjusting the statement date too?  In other words, the payment on the 10th would have been for a statement generated a few weeks before that, so have you received any more statements?  It's not unheard of for DD changes not to be reflected immediately, so you need to check on each statement whether or not it states that it'll be paid by DD collection....

I will depend on when the change is made as the CC co needs time to activate the DD and has to give you notice of how much is going out when.

It is possible. Best ask CC co on that one, as there is no right answer, as they can all differ 👍
