I opened this account to get the switching bonus and at the time had to have a certain amount transferred to the account and two direst debits. I've now had the switch money, do I need to keep funding the account and keep the Direct Debits to keep the account running? I'm thinking of going over to Santander Edge account and need the DD's there for cashback.

If you've satisfied the terms of your switching offer, and there's nothing in them (or the terms of the account itself) that commits you to continuing to fund it or retain DDs then you're free to do what you want with it.

Excellent. Thank you. I didn't know whether the ADVANCE account had stipulations or it reverted to a normal account. I have a regular saver so don't want to close the account. Much obliged.

Ah, but you need to keep the account for the regular saver. perhaps just check the conditions required for the RS before you reduce payment/ move DDs.
