Driving Licence pass date on comparison sites

Hello,
Following the golden rules I got myself a new car insurance quote early on to get the best deal. I went with Confused.com for this one.
Following up with this quote a week later I have noticed that whilst confused only asks ‘how long have you held your licence’ with an option for 25+ years, when this is translated through to the providers website it is translated into a date, so August 1998 in this case.
If I change this date on the providers site the quote goes up by about £60 (matching what a quote today would be).
I was wondering if this really matters? If I were to proceed with the wrong date on the cheaper quote would it invalidate my insurance? Or just because Confused only gives me the option of 25+ years does it really matter?
Has anyone else come across this or had issues?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, comparison sites try to make it as simple as possible to get a quote from many different insurers. You then must go through all the questions again when you get to the insurers site and answer them all as accurately and truthfully as you can. This may change the price as you have found, which may make it no longer the cheapest.0

Comparison sites can't give exact figures because the information provided isn't always an exact match for their system, as you have seen. Once you have a sense of the comparative prices, go to the relevant insurer's site directly, not via the comparison site link.
