B.G. fixed rate offer

British Gas have offered me the following rates as an existing customer:

Unit rates fractionally lower than current. I'm intriuged as to how they'd manage E7 readings on a smart meter as I remeber that used to be an issue for them
(I have no specific switched circuits). Not worried about 'small' price rises, though obviously saving ££ would be handy otherwise none of us would be here
!

If I asked to be switched to single rate billing, does anyone have a clue whether they'd still offer a fix of some sort?
Alternatively, If I was to switch to e.g. Octopus, how long would I need to be a customer before getting fixed offers?0

They claim that the smart meter / E7 thing isn't a problem any more - but evidence is still mixed.
There should be fixes for single rate, but I'm not with BG so can't check.0 -
When BG offered me a deal the other week I used cornwall insights to get an idea of the forecast rates. I calculated that for the period of the fix I would be better off staying with variable.1

Hi,I fixed with BG last week, Smart Aug 24, if new cheaper fix comes out, no penalty to switch to another BG fix.Y'all take care now.0

I have been with Octopus since Feb and not been offered any fix yet. Not that I would take one anyway as I am on their Tracker rate.0
