Car Insurance Query - want to add second car and help needed

1. I currently lease a car and that is insured with tesco
2. The lease ends next March and the insurance renews in January
3. I am possibly buying a 2nd car tomorrow which I cannot add to my tesco policy
4. I understand from tesco that my no claims discount cannot be used on my second car

So my questions are.......

How do I insure the potential new purchase ?
Will I be able to transfer my no claims discount when the lease car goes back in March ?

In effect, I will have two policies and one will only last two months after renewal in January

Any help, guidance etc would be useful

You will have to insure the second car on its own policy, you can ask Tesco if they will replicate you NCD to the policy or offer some other discount, but its at their discretion. Same for any other insurer, but worth asking.

You won't be able to transfer you NCD onto an active policy in March, you will be able to use your NCD the following January, or you an cancel the second policy in March and then use the NCD.

Do you need the second car before March, or even do you need to use the second car before March if you purchased it now?
