I owe an old debt from a previous address

I got a letter from SSE's solicitors saying I needed to set up a payment plan within 30 days of the letter or court proceedings will unsure.. I did that but they still went ahead with putting a CCJ against my name and putting court fees on top

i rang the solicitors a few weeks ago who said they will email SSE to check when I rang up.. and now they are saying I set up the payment plan AFTER the 30 days.. which isn't true..

what do I do?! Ring the court? Stop my direct debit payment plan and take it back to court?

All calls are recorded. SSE agree I set it up within the 30 days of the letter as I just called them.

I've kept the letter from the solicitors which says 30 days

To get a CCJ they will have taken you to court. To do that you will have been sent a whole host of court documents. These documents should have been sent to you at your last known address. They obviously know your current address as they have written to you there.
Did you receive any court documents?
If you didn't, it's possible that they used the wrong address in their claim. This is contrary to the judicial process.
    Suggested steps:
    1. Contact the court and get full details of the case that led to the CCJ.
    2. If the documents were served to the wrong address, ask SSE's solicitors to apply to the court to set aside the CCJ.
    3. If they refuse, make your own application for set aside.
You'll find lots of threads that explain the details of the process on the Parking forum (it's a common problem with parking firms).
However, if you did receive the court documents, what did you do with them?

Is the payment plan actually a payment plan for the CCJ, before they take enforcement action to recover the funds?

As Qriz says getting a CCJ is not a quick process, they would not be able to manage that within 30 days. I expect they had already obtained the CCJ and the payment plan was to settle the CCJ, or they would employ bailiffs escalate to the High Court and use HCEOs, apply for an attachment to earnings etc.

Thanks but the SSE solicitor said a few weeks if they accepted I set up a payment plan within the 30 days they would apply to the court to get rid of the CCJ.

I suspect that you might be misunderstanding, if you pay/satisfy the CCJ within 30 days then it will not show on your credit report and you can have it removed, the CCJ still exists, it just does not appear on your credit report.
