Barclaycard

Anyone had any successful dealings with Barclaycard. Got a Barclaycard Initial a couple of years back to build up a credit rating, started at £260 limit and this has crept up slowly to £500 since then. In the meantime my rating had improved and I now have a Morgan Stanley Card £3500 lmit and a Sonycard £2000 limit. I approched Barclaycard to see if they could upgrade my card and was bluntly told I did not meet the criteria for anything more than the initial card. I have never missed a payment and clear the balance most months.

Maybe stick it then, if you've got 2 others now looks like your credit history is repaired. If you really want to keep it maybe write into them and explain your situation.

Ring Barclaycard and say thank you for improving my credit rating, but unfortunately I have to close the account due to a better credit card offer.
Now they might bite and speak to someone? And then come back with a better credit card offer!
If they don’t? Then just close the account!.

    Also send them an email
Put down, I would like to thank you for giving me my first credit card, and for building my credit rating.
Unfortunately I have now been offered a better credit card with higher limit, I am sorry that after being a good customer? You don’t seem to want to upgrade my card!
Regretfully I would ask you to close my account.

No need for anymore unless you are a big stoozer.

well i had my initial for about a year and a half - initial credit limit 1k and then went up to about 2k i think. anyway i cancelled it and applied only about two months later because i needed the cash desperatly (was told on here to leave it 6 months) and they gave me a standard one!
