Legal Protection - 3rd party supplier for combined policy?

Hi.
LegProt. A must. As I may have mentioned once or twice on MSE fora.
Usually around £25+ for either 'house' or 'car', so in excess of £50pa in total, and that's usually for basic cover.
I recall I did use an independent third party for LP a looong time ago, but can't recall why I didn't carry on doing it that way. So, anyone here using an independent provider? For 'combined' cover? Any pros and cons? Any recommendations?
It would have to provide for 'home' and 'car' with their slightly different requirements, and at least as comprehensively as their separate counterparts when added to insurance policies.
