Energy price cap

When I’ve been looking at my renewal offer I have become concerned that my supplier is charging more than they should.
Is there a cap on the daily standing charge?
Is it region dependent?
I’m from the North West can anyone tell me what the cap is?

The cap varies depending how you pay, and if you are on a single rate tariff or a dual rate one (Economy7)

What rates are you being quoted? If its a "fix", the cap doesnt apply. The cap only applies to the standard rate.

Yes, yes, and are you actually in the North West licence region?  Lots of people think they are, but they are actually in North Wales.

That's a good point - the few suppliers that are actually green (rather than ones who buy normal grid mix electricity and then certificates to 'make' it green) have an exemption from the price cap.

Ecotricity, Green Energy and Good Energy iirc?
